Even if you did, we hope you found there are some good ideas you could support from each of the Parties listed. Please see our findings below, then (select or drag and drop as appropriate) the positions you support most from each of the categories listed into our American Party Platform.

Findings

The current Republican Party doesn’t even agree with itself. It claims to want small government, unless it wants to tell you what to buy, how to live, who to love, or what to do.

The Libertarian Party is pretty constant in their claim to want small government, but they go too far. The principle might be nice, but how do we eliminate Social Security or all government support. No IRS sounds great but who maintains the roads, bridges, or our military?

The Democratic Party highlights our differences to the point we lose sight of America’s motto - E pluribus unum (Out of Many, One). If we don’t have anything to pull us together, we will fall apart. They advocate for so many good programs, causes and groups that there is no way to cover the costs.

The Green Party offers the right sense of urgency regarding our planetary crisis, but its policy roadmap is a utopian wish list rather than a viable governing document. Its opposition to nuclear energy is outdated and fundamentally incompatible with the realities of clean energy grid capacity. By linking essential environmental action to radical economic restructuring, it guarantees that climate legislation will fail in a divided government. To pass major, lasting environmental laws we will need to build a broad coalition of moderate voters, union workers, and business leaders. Ultimately, the Green Party offers the right environmental diagnosis but the wrong prescription.
